Does bplaced.net support .htaccess and .htpasswd solution for making your web pages password protected? I can´t get it working! “Internal Server Error” page shows everytime I try to access folder which is protected with .htaccess… Do i have wrong path?
My path to password is:
/users/myusername/www/password/.htpasswd.
If the bplaced.net doesn´t support .htaccess, i would be very thankful if someone could tell me if there is working password protect solution…
Yes, Apache is configured with AllowOverride Options.
Please post the contents of your .htaccess in [code]-Tags.
well… it’s not. but password-protection using http-authentication is however available, probably there’s an directive in your .htaccess which is forbidden and therefor causes the internal error, so please post its contents.
ciao

Okay, here is the code of my .htaccess:
AuthName "Pagename"
AuthUserFile /users/myusername/www/password/.htpasswd
AuthType Basic
require valid-user
Uhm, have you tried replacing “myusername” with “ihmeweb”?

I did it in some webpage which i cannot remember… could that be the reason…? I try again in another webpage…
EDIT: I tried it but it didn´t work…
Still doesn´t work… What should I try next…?
hi,
try to use this script here: de.selfhtml.org/cgi-bin/cryptfor … URPASSWORD
then insert into .htpasswd
YourUserName:HashedValue
and try again, if it doesn’t work, i’ll figure out why, if you’d permit me to access your directory.
ciao
It still doesn´t work… You can access to my directory…

are you serious?
you need to use non-wysiwyg-editors to write into such files, simple text-editors, no office-software or whatever. that’s the .htpasswd’s content, .htaccess has similar RTF passages.
ciao
Im So ashamed now… How couldn’t i thought that wordpad makes the file like that…
Thank you very much! it works now!:D:D
Hello!
Try to use a relative path for the password-directrory and not an absolute.
I don’t know in which cases you must using which method, write for testing both in the .htaccess-file an look on the result.
for a working .htaccess just use the htaccess generator on filmanleitungen.bplaced.net and you get your personalized htaccess for your bplaced account
Thanks for the link!
should i translate the page into english or do you understand everything
oh okay
